Neil began boxing at 21 years old and gained valuable experience and confidence from his time spent training in this. At 28, he suffered a back injury and had to have a serious operation due to this. Instead of letting this hold him back, Neil decided to enroll on a HND course in Fitness, Health & Exercise at Forth Valley College and graduated with an overall “A” and distinction.
It was halfway through his first year at college that Neil discovered Krav Maga and loved it. After only 18 months training, he enrolled on and passed the KMG General Instructor Course (GIC) in May 2012. He now holds the rank of Graduate level 5 Instructor and is currently preparing for the Expert Level 1 test in Israel.
Neil is also a Krav Junior instructor and teaches a thriving kids class in the Shawlands area of Glasgow. His open approach to teaching and natural sense of humour has seen his Krav Junior classes become a big hit in Shawlands and are growing rapidly.
Neil hates to hear the word “sorry” in his classes and can be found regularly enforcing “the rule” when he hears it said. You’ll find out the rule in class…
He is also a firm believer in malarkey and shenanigans.
Neil lives with his wife Claire and newborn son (and future UFC champion) “Mighty” Connor Tracey in Battlefield, Glasgow.
He can be found teaching at the Tactical Defence classes in Dennistoun, Dumbarton and Shawlands.
