Krav has given me so much since I started training nearly 2 years ago. I’ve made friends I’m sure I will keep till the day that I die, I’ve met interesting people – from embalmers, car salesmen, students to anaesthetists, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and people from all walks of life and all corners of the earth people I would never naturally run across, young and old – most of which I now consider good friends from spending so much time at classes with them. It’s given a level of confidence and an awareness of surroundings and people I never appreciated before.
Krav has given me the self confidence to push myself both physically and mentally, when i went to my first class I would not be able to train for two hours at a time, if you told me 18 months ago that I’d be training 5-6 times a week and sometimes for entire days or weekends I’d consider you a candidate for a mental institution.
Most of all, I love the satisfaction of helping someone at class. It’s a fantastic way to train, you learn from the more experienced pupils and you get to pass on what you learn to the newer ones. When I joined my first class I was terrified – terrified I’d be rubbish (I was) – terrified I’d feel uncomfortable in a new environment (I wasn’t, everyone welcomed me and made me feel part of the group instantly) and terrified I’d collapse (okay I kinda did but I came back for more!).
Come and give us a try, you might surprise yourself – I know I did.
